In addition to setting up resource recycling bins on different floors in the factory, the company continues to promote the importance of resource classification and recycling to colleagues. It also collects remaining production materials such as aluminum, iron, waste paper, wire, and Styrofoam. Then entrust a professional manufacturer to recycle it. In 2022, we will continue to cooperate with Zhenglong Paper in different industries to recycle the company's old and expired paper documents, so that materials with reuse value can continue to be put into the circular economy. The total weight of waste processed this year included 44,355 kilograms of waste paper and 16,180 kilograms of scrap iron, totaling 60,535 kilograms. The amount of waste treatment amounted to 226,297 yuan, the highest amount in recent years. It can be seen that materials with reuse value are continuously put into the circular economy. It also fulfills its responsibilities of environmental protection and improving resource efficiency.

• Carbon emissions management

In view of the fact that the administrative agency has set a 50% greenhouse gas reduction target in Taiwan by 2050 and that important customer groups have successively set targets related to energy conservation and carbon reduction, Qunyi Industry will respond to the relevant needs of the Taiwan authorities and stakeholders and review the annual target setting on a rolling basis every year. In the process of manufacturing and daily operation, Qunyi Industry strictly follows China's various environmental protection laws and regulations, and there are no illegal projects in 2022.

1) Energy use and energy conservation

The company mainly focuses on machine assembly and testing operations, and the power usage required in the office area, and the rest such as emergency power supply equipment accounts for a very low proportion, so it currently focuses on the statistics of power consumption in the factory and office area. In response to the successful completion and commissioning of the 4th floor expansion project in 2022, the electricity consumption increased by 180,700 kWh (27.48%) over the previous year.

2) Greenhouse gas emissions management

Due to the characteristics of the electronic equipment industry, Qunyi Industry subdivided into four categories in Scope 1 based on the number of kilometers of fuel used by official vehicles and the purchase of electricity outside Scope 2, among which business travel is the main calculation indicator, and the total carbon emission in 2022 is 510 metric tons and the carbon emission coefficient is 0.509 kg CO2e/kWh. Compared to FY2021, the total carbon emissions of the previous year were 417 metric tons, and the carbon emission coefficient was 0.502 kg CO2e/kWh.

According to the average CO2 emission value announced on the official website of the Environmental Protection Agency, using 2,360 grams of carbon dioxide per liter of 95 unleaded gasoline, the total mileage of official vehicles in 2022 is 260,828 kilometers, and the rough estimate of one liter of 95 unleaded gasoline per official car can travel about 8 kilometers, and the total mileage consumes about 32,603 liters of 95 unleaded gasoline, which translates to a total of 76.94 metric tons of carbon dioxide. Qunyi Industry will review its energy efficiency year by year, and the high-level executive vehicles will also take the lead in replacing them with hybrid vehicles, with better energy efficiency levels and moderate air quality.

In addition, the energy consumption outside the organization is calculated based on the staff dormitories provided, with a total electricity consumption of 93,527 kWh and a total carbon emission of 47.13 metric tons. The total water consumption is 5,049 kWh and the total carbon emission is 0.76 metric tons.

• Water resource utilization

In response to extreme global climate change, coupled with the special water-scarce geographical environment and climate in Taiwan, it is very important for enterprises to properly manage the use of water resources, and they must always pay attention to the efficiency of water use and whether there is any violation of relevant environmental protection laws and regulations.

In 2022, the company will continue to follow various water-saving measures such as the Taoyuan Municipal Government and the North District Water Resources Bureau of the Water Resources Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs to track monthly changes in water consumption. At present, some of the handwashing devices in the factory have adopted water-saving faucets, and the management department will further plan to adopt more water-saving faucet devices to enable the company to continue to save water resources. In response to the successful completion and commissioning of the 4th floor expansion project in 2022, the water consumption increased by 721 kWh (15.66% increase) compared with the previous year.

• Biodiversity

In 2022, the Qunyi ESG team and the Circuit Board Environmental Public Welfare Foundation jointly organized a marine environmental education course at Baosheng National Primary School in Guanyin District, Taoyuan City, to take students to understand marine ecology through interesting teaching of painting, including the local Guanxin Algae Reef Ecological Reserve, which has 345 species, such as crustaceans, shellfish, polychaetes, waterbirds, etc., all of which inhabit here due to the porous characteristics of algae reefs, making the precious resources of algae reefs more suitable for proper maintenance. Through cooperation with schools, we convey the concept of resource restoration and ecological conservation to students, and achieve the goal of sustainable marine development.

In November this year, Deputy General Manager Yu of Sustainability led the ESG team to go out again, with the popular game Pokémon as the theme, combined with various insects to lead students to understand one by one, and introduced the insect species in Taoyuan Yangmei District through mini games, such as beetles, butterflies, moths, dragonflies, etc., so that students can not only learn about insects, but also encourage students to get close to nature and achieve sustainable environmental resources.

Sensing the diversity of plants, Qunyi planted related species in the factory area, such as: eggplant, camphor tree, large-leaved olive, golden dew, pine and cypress, camellia, podocarpus, osmanthus... and so on, do a good job in greening and beautification.
